New Blog-New Dog!
Jazzy came into the world 11/20/05, and into our lives 1/3/06. She is a little over 6 weeks old and weighs 5 pounds even. Her owner said this litter was the first and last time she will breed her dam, who is a family pet. So she wasn't from a puppy mill. Her tail was bobbed and dew claws removed, as well as first shots and worming, before we met her, so that saved us some money.
Endearing Qualities:
-Precious feminine face with dainty eyes and wrinkled up nose.
-Likes to back up as much as going forward when she walks.
-Flopped-over ears, which will perk up as she matures.
-Cute markings of black and white, typical Boston Terrier.
-Good balance of playfulness and rest.
-She loves to be wherever we are-can you say "shadow"?
-She gets rollie-pollie and topsy turvy-cute when she's clumsy!-Reminds me of a weeble!
First Night:
-Fell asleep on my chest, while I rested on the couch. Then I transferred her to her kennel.
-She slept 20 more minutes in the kennel, then woke up to go potty.
-Fell asleep on me again, back to kennel, and slept 40 minutes. Going up-sleeping longer!
-Woke up, went potty, exercised, then fell asleep on me, and back to kennel. This time she slept a whole hour! This cycle was repeated again.
-Last time in the kennel she was there about 40 minutes, then she was wide awake-around 6 a.m.
-That was Russ's time to wake, so they played while I slept in the bed for an hour.
This was much better than Mijo's first night (our previous Boston Terrier)-so I'm rejoicing in what sleep I got. The best news is that she is getting used to her kennel and likes it-will sleep longer as her bladder gets trained.
Oh to sleep when she sleeps and plays when she plays, but the laundry is calling me!

I'm delirously happy that you have a puppy!!! That's so great.
Did I tell you we have a seven month old Labradoodle now? Her name is Sadie, and she is getting bigger every day - something I'm having to get used to.
Two of my dogs died earlier this year - a 6 lb. poodle named Cassie, and a 15 lb. Bichon Frise named Chelsea. We still have Angel - a 14 lb. poodle, and she can't figure out how to deal with this big 60 lb. dog! lol! What fun we've had though.
God bless! - Donna

Since we're sharing dog stories...
Our American Working Farmcollie, Grace, had 8 puppies just weeks after we moved to California! Grace is a beaut and her puppies (all but two) look just like her. Funny thing is ALL EIGHT are girls! We couldn't believe it - we all went around checking puppies after each other because it just couldn't be true!
BTW - if you're going to feed nine dogs, you might as well just own a hippo!
